Women to Watch Class of 2016: Dena Wargo
Assistant Director at Mishawaka-Penn-Harris Public Library
Dena Wargo has spent the majority of her career in various human resources roles in the banking industry. After several years at Valley American Bank, she was offered an opportunity at 1st Source Bank, where she served as Director of Training & Development and Assistant Director of Human Resources. Though she continued to live in Granger, an opportunity as Director of Education with United Federal Credit Union in St. Joseph, MI took Dena out of the local business community for five years. Although she thoroughly enjoyed the world of financial services, she was ready for a change --- not to mention a shorter commute! In 2013, Dena joined the Mishawaka-Penn-Harris Public Library as the Human Resources Manager. WOW, talk about a new and interesting world! Two and a half years later, she now serves as Assistant Director, a role in which she is responsible for various departments including human resources, marketing, accounting, finance, information technology, facilities, maintenance and security. Dena is proud of the library services they provide to their taxpayers and those in need. She feels blessed to serve in a role in which she is surrounded by professional colleagues who are making a positive difference in the lives of others every day!
