Kimberly Ann Bonds' love affair with radio started long ago. As a little girl, she would record hours of live radio on cassettes and would memorize everything that was said, sung or written in the commercials. Kimberly’s first radio job was at WAMJ-AM in Mishawaka where she worked there for a year and then applied at the number one Top 40 secular station in Mishawaka called, Zip 104-FM. While working at Zip 104-FM, someone from LeSea Broadcasting heard her on the radio and offered her a job the next day. Kimberly has worked for LeSea Broadcasting and Positive Hit Music, Pulse FM Radio for 25 years now! LeSea is the home of many amazing ministries. Radio (2 FM stations, 3 frequencies and 6 Shortwave Stations that cover the entire world), 6 Full Power Television Stations-2 National & 1 International, Feed The Hungry, Worldwide Bible Distribution,
Making Healthy Choices, LeSea Tours and a 24 hour International Prayerline. Touching, helping and encouraging people on a daily basis!

Just In A Day's Work:

What do you love about your job?
The intimate connection and companionship of being a listener’s closest friend, biggest cheerleader, most consistent motivator and story-teller. The minute-by-minute opportunity to input into people’s lives is wonderful! It changes their whole outlook, heart and day! We give them the energy and ability to keep doing what THEY do on a daily basis with us by their side encouraging them forward! I love that I can provide the chance to change lives and the ability to reach out and squeeze a heart of discouragement back to life. I love the outreach, the ministry and the love. It’s fun, amazing and ultimately life-changing. There is nothing else like radio in this world!
What is the best business advice you have received and who gave it?
The best radio advice I ever received was back in 1986 from my first program director, "Be uniquely you. Develop your OWN voice. Don’t try to be, sound like or emulate
ANY one else." I ran with that! I developed the belief and wisdom that each of us is one-of-a-kind and part of a greater 'body' of people. Together we make up a powerful, strong, functioning whole. But, we won’t and don’t as long as "eyes that instead want to be ears or legs that instead want to be lungs refuse to walk in their own beautiful assignment, gifting’s, strengths and callings. There is nothing more valuable than you.” And that goes for business success, family relationships,
empowering friendships, artistic contributions, social interaction and causes and ministry on every level.
What are some of the obstacles you have faced as a woman in your workplace?
I believe that being a single mom is a challenge no matter what job or career you hold. I have a special place in my heart for women who are both the mother and the father to their children. Those who go home after a long work day become the cook, launderer, maintenance person, bill payer, cleaner, organizer, school function attender, cheerleader, supporter, child-raiser, protector, provider and a million other things that all single moms can relate to.
Do you serve on any charitable organizations' boards or committees?
I am a voice of healing and freedom for those who are experiencing domestic violence or are trying to find help and healing from abuse that has occurred in their childhood, marriage or relationships. Many places ask me to come and speak. I’ve spoken at churches, fellowships, support groups and correctional facilities. At LeSea Broadcasting, I have the daily opportunity to serve and help raise money to feed hungry children with our own 'Feed the Hungry,’ and send the word of God with 'Spread the Word.' We work yearly with other organizations that come to us asking for assistance with feeding programs, ministry and various other projects that bring help and relief to those hungry, sick or less fortunate all around the world.
What is your single best piece of advice for women in business?
Love being the unique and amazing one-of-a kind woman that God created you to be. Be that bold, talented, intelligent, incredible, overcoming, conscientious woman who truly values and believes in herself. Pursue your dreams while inspiring others to do the same by your tenacity, faith, encouragement and ethics. You have your own unique light.
LET IT SHINE. Don’t allow issues, troubles, challenges or negativity dull that, EVER!
