TITLE: Entrepreneur, Owner & Yoga Instructor » COMPANY: Solace Yoga Studio
Solace Yoga Studio offers yoga classes for beginners as well as those who have been practicing for years. I’ve worked hard to create a studio that is very warm and inviting for our guests, so it’s almost like walking into a spa. We want customers to have a place to get away and relax, even if it's just for an hour.
WHEN I GROW UP I WANT TO BE...
A rock star!
HOW DID YOU CHOSE THIS LINE OF WORK?
I graduated from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, Bloomington. It took me a while to choose my major, but ultimately I knew I wanted to own my own business someday. Through my years working in the corporate world, I would often come up with business ideas, and finally in 2009, I realized a great business that I could start in our community, Solace Yoga Studio. We needed it!
Ultra comfortable! Yoga pants, great workout top and going barefoot.
WHY I LOVE MY JOB
I love that yoga helps people. People come into the studio and say, "I really need this!" After class, they leave with a smile on their face. I know that their hour on the mat has helped them in one way or another.
To start another business.
When I can pay it forward and teach people what I have learned.
Best business advice you ever received and who gave it? My mom gave me great advice. When I had a sales job, I was stressing about trying to close the sale with a certain client, and I had not heard from them. She said, "They are your number one priority, but what you are selling is not their number one priority. It may be important to them, but it is not their main concern. You need to go out and get more clients, so that you're not putting all your eggs in one basket."
Who consistently inspires you? I am inspired by people who are happy with what they are doing with their lives and are making money doing it.
If you were to describe yourself as a shoe, what kind would you be and why? I'd be a flip-flop because I'd much rather be on the beach teaching yoga, working out, or just hanging with my family.
